Your Given Mandate: The Power to Lead and Govern for Change (Half-Day) Abuja
Time & Location
About The Event
Who should attend
This is an interactive and hard-hitting workshop aimed at those mandated, either by the people or their status to govern and lead - policymakers, security personnel, politicians, lawmakers, community champions, business leaders, religious/community leaders, and aspiring politicians.
Simply, it is for anyone keen to learn how to affect positive social and political change, which benefits citizens and communities, etc. If you want and believe in a better Nigeria, this workshop is definitely for you. No prior knowledge is required.
Human beings are by nature ‘political’ because we have the ability to communicate and to engage in dialogue about justice and the greater good. That politics must serve as ‘means of reconciling the need for unity’ (Aristotle, 1985).
However, today, many Nigerian political entities neither engage in dialogue not stand for justice. Rather, they exist for the purposes of posterity and self-sufficiency while sowing discord and destroying the hope of young Nigerians and the environment.
The workshop overview and learning outcomes include:
- A better understanding of the community organising process
- Understanding the importance of active listening, building relationships and networks
- What happens when citizens are no longer democratic entities
- Understanding good and bad leadership
- Exploring power and our politics
- What can you contribute to these discourse?
Note: This workshop will help you realise more than you thought possible, whilst also helping a very good cause.
Light refreshment will be provided.
